We decided to drop by Times Square before heading home and after a long day of walking. It wasn’t planned at all, but who would dare to miss this place, right? They say, that Times Square shines the brightest at night and they were right. Not that it didn’t look good in daylight but in the evening, it’s a whole different ball game.
Smacked right down in the middle of Manhattan, this major intersection made me feel like I just walked into a Hollywood movie. The bright lights and signs, the busy roads, the crowded streets, and the “noise” just screamed, “New York, New York!”. I remember sitting down the Red Stairs and I just watched everyone; the street performers with their feather boas, bikinis and magic tricks, the fast walking New Yorkers who seem to never stop to catch their breath, and the tourists who, like me, were struggling to take photos just to capture every moment. Even though I came to New York sort of expecting what to see (from movies and all that), it still all seemed so surreal, seeing it with my own eyes and feeling what it is like to actually be there.
The memories are flooding back…like it was just yesterday. *sigh* But that’s it for now, hope you enjoy this diary and I’ll see you on my next post!
